TOSOO AXORA

Closed-loop auditory stimulation

A non-invasive platform for sleep targeted neuromodulation

The AXORA headband captures medical-grade EEG and uses closed-loop algorithms to detect target sleep stages and deliver auditory stimuli via built-in headphones. This enables targeted modulation of sleep features, such as slow-wave activity.

Wavescope manages your study end to end: participant and device management, double-blinded sham-controlled study setup, automated data quality checks, and full raw EEG data access, all in one place.

Therapeutic Potential of deep sleep

Why we target
slow-wave sleep

What is Deep Sleep?

Deep sleep, defined by slow-wave activity, drives essential restorative functions across the entire body and brain, ranging from memory consolidation and emotional regulation to immunological processing, metabolic regulation, and the clearance of neurotoxic proteins

Relevance of Deep Sleep

A bidirectional relationship exists between sleep disturbances and disease progression. In neurodegeneration, disrupted sleep worsens cognitive and motor decline. Reduced slow-wave sleep also contributes to psychiatric, neurodevelopmental, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders such as depression, PTSD, ADHD, and diabetes.

Deep Sleep as Therapeutic Target

As slow waves emerge as a vital therapeutic target, the AXORA® neuromodulation platform provides researchers with a unique opportunity to investigate novel, non-pharmacological, and disease-modifying interventions across a broad spectrum of clinical indications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I modulate REM sleep using AXORA?

Our standard protocol is optimized for slow-wave activity. However, the AXORA platform is customizable; we can develop bespoke protocols for other types of modulation depending on your specific research requirements.

Will the headband fit my patients?

Yes. We offer multiple sizes designed for ergonomic comfort across a wide demographic, including pediatric sizes.

Will the stimulation wake the patient?

No. Our closed-loop auditory stimulation is delivered at sub-awakening thresholds, ensuring the patient remains in deep sleep while their brain activity is enhanced.

Can you deliver auditory stimuli other than pink noise?

Yes. Beyond standard pink noise, the platform has been used in studies delivering complex stimuli, such as verbal cues for memory reactivity.

Is the device comfortable enough for long-term use?

Absolutely. Our technology is designed for longitudinal interventions of 18+ months. We report exceptionally low dropout rates, proving the device is suitable for consistent, nightly home use.

How much does the platform cost?

We typically operate on a rental model. Pricing is tiered based on the duration of your intervention and the total number of headbands required for your cohort.

Do you provide support for clinical studies?

Yes. We offer end-to-end support, including ethics application guidance, study design, and potential co-authorship. Support levels are tailored to the specific needs of each individual case.

Can I buy this as a private individual?

Currently, AXORA is available for research and clinical use only. However, you may be eligible to participate in one of our ongoing studies.

Is it medically certified as a treatment?

Not yet. We are currently undergoing the regulatory pathways for medical certification. At present, it is designated for clinical research and investigational use.

Can we set up a pilot study for a new indication?

Yes, we welcome new collaborations. Due to high demand, it is helpful if you have an initial draft of your study protocol or a specific hypothesis ready for our team to review.
